(1) How is a society formed ?

Answer :

  • Man seeks security and stability. Man began living with others when he recognised that he might have security by living with others.
  • As a result, society came into existence to achieve certain common goals.

 (2) Why is it necessary to set up a permanent system in society ?

Answer :

  • It is necessary to establish a permanent system in society to meet fundamental requirements such as food, clothes, shelter, and security.
  • Without such a system, the day-to-day affairs of the society cannot be carried out.
  • A system is essential for the continued existence of the society.
  • The existence of many such systems makes a society stable.

(3) What makes life in society more stable and organized ?

Answer :

The factors that make the social life more stable and organised are as follows :

  • The satisfaction of fundamental requirements for food, clothes, and shelter.
  • Security arrangment.
  • Interdependence between the various societal segments.
  • Possibilities for people to enhance their innate abilities and talents.
  • Regulation in the form of laws, values, and customs.

(4) If there were no social institutions, what difficulties would we have faced ?

Answer :

We would have faced the following difficulties, if there was no society :

  • Man would have remained in the nomadic stage, wandering from place to face in search of food.
  • Man would have remained perpetually insecure and instab
  • Law of the jungle would have prevailed in the absence of rules and regulatory authority.
  • Emotional psychological and physical needs of man would not have been satisfied.
  • Development of personality would not have taken place.

Question 4. What would you do in the following situations ?

(1) Your friend has forgotten to bring something they need in school.

Answer :

  • I will ask him/her not to worry and I will share necessary things to him/her, if it is extra available with me.
  • I will advise him/ her not to repeat the same mistake as our teacher may notice that and will scold/ punish him/her for the same.

(2) You meet a blind or otherwise handicapped person on the way.

Answer :

  • I will offer sympathy and assist that individual in crossing the street.
  • I will ask where he or she wants to go and will accompany him or her there.
