There are many undesirable customs prevailing in the society such as

• Racism, gender difference, untouchability.
• Killing of a female infant.
• Killing of a woman for dowry.
• Killing of animals in the name of custom/tradition.

which are not healthy for people and society.

Though many laws has been enforced to eradicate these customs, some parts of society are still addicted to it.

• Measures for their eradication are as follows:
• Education should be spread in the villages as well as cities and it should be imparted equally to both, men and women.
• To repel blind faith, lectures and roadshows on social awareness and scientific knowledge should be arranged. These should also be propagated on media like televisions and radios.

• Navaratri is celebrated differently in different parts of India.
• In our area, people perform Garba and Dandiya Raas during Navaratri.
• In our area, the festival is celebrated with dignity and display with huge pandals (temporary structures) erected in honor of Durga. 
• Devotees offer prayers and flowers to the deity, and the nine nights are marked by feasting and celebration.
