  • Sant Kabir was a 15th-century Indian mystic poet and saint, whose writings influenced Hinduism's Bhakti movement
  • Sant Kabir did not attach any importance to places of pilgrimage, vratas and idol-worship as he believed Truth was God.
  • He did not believe in any differences based on caste, sect, creed and religion.
  • He preached that an human beings are equal,
  • He wanted to bring about Hindu-Muslim unity.
  • He strongly criticized exctremely orthodox people in both religions.
  • His devotional compositions are inciuded in Guru Granth Sahib.

Thus Sant Kabir emerged as a famous sant of Bhakti movement.
