Religious tourism Cultural tourism
Religious tourism refers to travel for pilgrimage, missionary purposes, and so on. Cultural tourism is a sort of tourism in which travellers travel to learn new things and experience the culture of a specific location.
Religious tourism involves visiting various religious sites, such as temples and churches, in order to do religious rituals and acquire spiritual peace. Cultural tourism involves experiencing and studying the art, architecture, religion, customs, traditions, and lifestyle of a certain location.

2) What are the objectives of tourism?

The objectives of tourism are as follows :

3) Explain the environmental effects of tourism.

  • Ecotourism entails taking care to avoid degrading and contaminating the environment as well as destroying tourist destinations.

  • Ecotourism also entails building eco-friendly houses, resorts, and traffic patterns, among other things.
  • Recycling and reusing are also important concepts in ecotourism. Thus, tourism (ecotourism) provides numerous environmental benefits.

  • The government should assign officers to monitor cleanliness in tourist areas and give them the authority to take swift action against tourists who throw garbage in tourist areas.
  • The government should establish medical dispensaries near tourist attractions.
  • Every tourist destination should have a communication zone with complete communication services.

6) Explain with reason the places of interest that can be developed as tourist centres in your district.

The places of interest that can be developed as tourist centres in my district are as follows :

(1) Alandi (2) Lonaval (3) Sinhagad (4) Kamshet (5) Urali Kanchan etc.

The reasons for the places of interest that can be developed as tourists centres :

  • Alandi is popular as a place of pilgrimage and the resting place of the 8th century Marathi saint Sant Dnyaneshwar.
  • Lonavala is famous hill station near pune.
  • Sinhagad has historical importance.
  • Kamshet is famous for adventure sports like paragliding and oldest caves. Kamshet has a great potential for agro tourism also.
  • Urali Kanchan village has been famous for the last sixty years for the Naturopathy Center (Nisarg Upchar Ashram) started by Mahatma Gandhi and his disciple Manibhai Desai.
  • Thus, Alandi Sinhagad Urali Kanchan are the most suitable places for field visits and educational tourism.
