  • In 1983, India won the Cricket World Cup.

  • Previously, newspapers were only available in black and white; today, they come in a variety of colours.
  • In the past, newspapers were seen as the official voice of the taluka or district from which they emanated, but state-level newspaper networks now provide them a stiff challenge.
  • Newspapers are now more active in carrying out beneficial activities in addition to reporting on daily occurrences. Today, newspapers are an integral part of our life.

(3) Which changes have taken place in the medium of television?

Answer :

  • The state government held a monopoly on television until the 1990s. A considerable number of private channels have entered television since liberalisation in the 1990s.
